Okay...a few things I am pondering:
1) Has anyone heard about/read about Hershel Walker and his new book? The one that explains his disassociative personality disorder? You know...I think it USED to be referred to as Schizophrenia. If it is not QUITE the same thing...someone that is an expert can straighten me out. Apparently he had at least 3 personalities that didn't know ANYTHING about each other.
Do you know someone that you suspect is like that?
2) Is it possible to just flip back and forth between personalities without realizing you are BUT remember things from one personality to another? Just not realizing that your uncontrollable behavior is becuz of schizophrenia?
3) AND if you are insulted or accused in public of things that aren't right...your name is used and everything...don't you think that if there is an apology made that it should also be in public with your name being used? I think it is only fair. If someone is willing to embarrass YOU by untrue accusations, then they should be willing to humble themselves enough to make a public apology, too.
Why do ppl have such a difficult time admitting when they are wrong? I told a friend of mine once about apologizing to my husband becuz we had had a discussion about something...he relinquised to me and pronounced me right...I found out later I was wrong..so I apologized to him. (that doesn't mean that it was ONLY once...just that I told my friend about it once!

) She just stared at me like I had two heads! She said, "let me get this straight...you admitted you were WRONG AND you APOLOGIZED?"

Um...yeah! I try to show respect to others. If I'm wrong..I'm wrong It isn't like anyone is RIGHT all the time! SHEESH!
And for those of you that left comments on my last post to try and show support or make me feel better...AW SHUCKS! You brought tears to my eyes! THank YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!
Schizophrenia, which means split brain was the name first used to describe people who were psychotic and unable to live in reality.
This term was mistakenly applied to people who had 2 or more distinct personalities, because one may have been normal even though the others were not. Later on as more became known about mental health, the name Multiple Personality disorder, now known as Dissociative Personality disorder, was used to describe people like Hershel Walker. This condition is rare, and the person involved is usually not considered psychotic.
Schizophrenia is more common and typical symptoms include hearing voices (especially the voice of God), hallucinations and paranoia.
As House once said, "If you talk to God you're religious, if God talks to you, you're schizophrenic"
There happen to be a few blogs here on Blogstream that seem to be written but people who fit into that category.
I am so glad to see you around again!
